Markets in Asia

It was very exciting to go on a market in Asia because I could never expect what I will find there, all the smells, sounds and the people made these places so memorable.

First of all the locations of some markets were to me a mystery... When I was strolled around one of the biggest streets in Busan searching for a big supermall I came across this market. For me the market was very hidden I just stumbled upon an entrance and saw that it is something bigger inside, and it turned out that inside it was very big market with all kinds of food, fish, fruits, vegetables etc. All the prices were very reasonable.

There are mainly two types of sellers here, the ones who owns a corner and sell their stuffs there or the ones who just owns some kind of cart which they walk around with continuously in this big place.

Sometimes I just encountered living things which I could not really point out what it was, like the one in the orange bucket...They moved very strangely up and down in the bucket, like they were kipping for air all the time
One street was followed by another, it was very big this place

Jagalchi fish market

Busan has the 5th largest port in the world, which means that they have most kinds of sea creatures for sale. This I could experience in the Jagalchi fishmarket in Busan, the main fish market in Busan and maybe Korea.
Overlook over the fishing fleet... No fish, squid, shrimp, crab or whatever can escape this fleet!! It was a numerous number of fishing boats in the Busan harbour
Nice fishinglady posing with her latest catch...
Inside the market... And here it was also so big that I couldn't see an end!
The fish were flying in this place!

Fishing Boat entering with some newly caught fish!

Dried fish snack, as tasty as it smells I think... At this street it smelled so much fish that I needed to change clothes after I returned home

Sea creatures caught by hand on Jeju island

Well this is maybe more like a restaurant but anyway it had to mentioned. Some diving ladies just beside were catching squids, snails, eels, crabs and much more unconfirmed creatures too with traps, hands or with other tools.

This is locadet just beside the Seongsan Ilchulbong on Jeju island, the view from the restaurant
The entrance into the water, they also use it to dry some fresh seaweed, mmmm!

So we came to the container of sea creatures, chose what we desired and the ladies cleaned it for us
Thats ours meny, very tasty!

Ladies market, Hong Kong

This is maybe the most chaotic market which I visited in asia, so much people, lights and sounds everywhere and they brought advertising to a new level... So much signs at the same time...

The way of bargaining here was very very tough!

Animal market, Shanghai

This market sold a lot of different animals and creatures, from dogs to grasshoppers.
Pick one! You usually buy one grasshopper and a nice little cage for it, so that you can get some nice grasshopper sound wherever you want!
The nice little cages for the grasshoppers

Some strange frogs, from distance they looked artificial but I actually checked that they were alive ;-)

Be aware of piracy objects in China, it's very common!

Strange food market, Beijing

On this place they also sold quite common things as well, but maybe not in a way which they would have been sold here in Europe. Here they sell whole chickens

Some tasty seahorses
Some strange drink, which was boiling but it was icecold
The most tasty food in the whole market!
Small scorpions, big scorpions... You name it they have it!
Snakes, centepedes, butterfly pupaes
Minisharks, big spiders, they have everything you would like ;-)
